Well, the start of the month means we have a new challenge for you at Scrap the Girls. I want to thank Malinda of Scrap The Girls for letting me stay on the design team for another term! Yipee!

This month we have a recipe challenge for you. The ingredients are:

Here's my layout using Websters' Pages Citrus Squeeze.

My daughter Julia definitely has the talent to smile underwater! LOL! Please head on over to the Scrap The Girls blog for the complete details and be inspired by what the DT (old and new) have created just for you!

What a Day!

We were on a staycation during the past holiday...of course a scrapper takes advantage of this time to play with paper, scissors and glue.

Here is just one of the six layouts I finished during that weekend...

Did this for the MME March Sketch Challenge...yup, still scrapping pics for our SG trip. Better do so now before summer photos start piling up.

In case you want some inspiration, here's the sketch I'm talking about...

Will be posting some of the other layouts I finished in the coming days.

Today, I'm happy to share with you my latest layout....this one is for the December challenge at Scrap The Girls. The only requirement for this month is a "list!"

Title: Fun Facts
Used MME Sweetest Thing for this one. I'm really loving MME!

I always make it a point to scrap about my DD's noteworthy traits/faves for a particular year. This one is about Ally at 6 years old.

Thanks for dropping by. I'm off to play with some pretty paper!

NSD with Basic Grey

I had fun spending National Scrapbooking Day and the rest of the week with the Basic Grey challenges.... it helps that I have an untouched Indie Bloom collection pack in my stash. Well, here are my layouts....

For the shape challenge (use shapes other than squares and rectangles), I used hexagons which is so "in" at the moment. Used Sweet Threads for this one.

For the mixed font challenge...used a mix of the sticker alphas and Wilma chipboard alphas.Obviously, our family loves the Pocketbooth app in our Ipad.

For the mulitple layers challenge....I had fun with this pic. Its a pic of my girls with their cousin Korey. The picture was quite dark but with the mulitple editing options we have nowadays, it looks better now.

For the Jana Eubank challenge...layout has to be split in the middle, either horizontally or vertically. Here's my version...

Thanks for dropping by! There are so many more challenges that I want to do!!!

Island Girl

To say that I am pressured to scrap last year's summer photos is an understatement. LOL! Slowly but surely I am making a dent on my photos and my scrap supplies. Yey, that means I can buy more!!!

Here's a layout uof Julia from our Bora trip last summer. It is based on Prima's March Build-A-Page....

And here's the sketch to inspire you....

Thanks for looking! I'm off to scrap summer photos even if its raining outside!!!

Being a Mom

The journaling focus at Once Upon a Sketch is all about something that we are good at. Here's my layout...

I'm not saying I'm perfect but I know I'm trying my best to be a good mom to my girls! I used a mix of Crate Paper's Random and Emma's Shoppe pps and I'm loving the bright but vintage look. Our picture was also taken using the Ipad and I used Snapseed to edit it.

Celebrate!

Julia turning nine years old last year is indeed a good reason to celebrate. I recently scrapped this layout using pictures from her week long celebration of sorts.

I used here a mix of different lines from Websters' Pages. I was actually inspired to scrap these pics because of the challenge at Scrap the Girls!

My February Layouts...

I wanted to be productive scrapwise so I joined in My Scraps and More Scrapping Idol challenges. I was not able to join in all the challenges but I was able to create these layouts....

Title: Sweet Child of Mine
Used KaiserCraft pps for this one (I've been hoarding these papers for so long), and Prima flowers

Title: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
Journaling: I was even surprised to find His and Hers watches in our dresser drawer before we left for the airport.
This layout is about our wedding anniversary last year.

Title & Journaling: LOOKIN' FOR A GOOD TIME with the good (Tinkerbell) and not so good (Vidia) fairies (May 2011, Disneyland)

Title: Weekend in Macau
Journaling: Girl bonding at its best! (Feb 3, 2012)

Title: It's a Great Day to Celebrate
Journaling: A trip to Disney will not be complete without posing with Mickey!

That's it folks! I wasn't as productive as last month but there are less days in February anyway. LOL! I'm so glad I got to use my stash and scrap pictures from last summer.

Remember...

This is the word over at Bird is the Word and here's my layout:

Title: Remember....this is what we came here for
Materials Used: Websters' Pages, Dusty Attic, Pink Paislee, Prima, Making Memories, Technique Tuesday

Yipee! I was finally able to scrap one of the most important photos from our trip last year. A family picture like this doesn't happen often because of the distance so this photo is extra special! More than the sight seeing, spending time with family was the highlight of our trip.

Fresh Start for 2012

My word for 2012 is OPTIMISM. I know I worry a lot so I need to stay postive on everything. Here's my layout about my resolutions and hopes for 2012. Its kinda personal so I hid some of my journaling under the photo. This picture was taken last October 2011 during my birthday bash with the LB Scrapaholics.

Journaling; New Year is all about
getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better,
to do more, to give more, to love more, and STOP worrying about what if
and start embracing what would be.
(from:www.livelifehappy)

Materials Used: OA & SEI pps, Dusty Attic Chipboard, Prima flowers, Maya Rd pearl pin, Pink Paislee vintage spool, OA letter stickers, and Tim Holtz die

Some close-ups:

What's my inspiration for this layout? Well, its challenge #213 over at Color Combos Galore. I used the lovely colors, and was inspired by the theme and the clock in the photo. Here's what the the challenge is all about...

Brand New

Starting the year right with two new layouts....

Title: Naughty or Nice

Used a mix of Fancy Pants and Simple Stories for this one. This layout is inspired by the challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous which is all about paint, ink, mist and masking. I spiced up my background by using a lace cardstock (I hoarded a lot of this) as mask and used green Maya Mist. I also distressed the edges of the layout using Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. In short, I had fun making this layout! One thing about this layout....the pictures are from 2010!

But wait, there's more....

Title: Hanging out at the Beach
Journaling: For sure, Ally will have fun playing in the sand.
(Weekend getaway at Bolinao, not even a storm can stop us, Aug 29, 2011)

Used Simple Stories' 100 days of summer pps and CS stickers for this one. I really love this collection and I still have lots of pps left to play with.

I'm so glad that slowly I'm getting back into the groove of scrapping. I hope you are scrapping too!
