Tan, Chocolate Brown, Rusty Orange, and Royal Blue

This is the color combo for this week at Design Dollies. Definitely not my usual colors, hehe! BUT I'm not one to back out from a challenge (especially a scrapbooking challenge).  Here's my layout:

I know the page is filled up with photos but it is so hard to choose photos from our recent trip. Hehe! I hope you get to try out this combo. This is our last for the year so layout/projects are not due until 02 January 2011!!! I heard that the prize for the color challenges will be fabulous so LINK up your projects HERE! This is also my last layout as DT for the dollies. It was an amazing 6 months and I loved every minute of it!

Nautical but Nice!

nautical = of, relating to, or involving ships, navigation, or sailors [from Latin nauticus, from Greek nautikos, from naus ship] Source: Collins English Dictionary

That's our elements challenge for the Design Dollies this week and I think its cute! So this is about anything nautical. I used the compass which is a navigational tool as inspiration for my layout and used beach photos too! Here's my take:

I used photos from our recent trip to Pagudpud. I really love this beach. The water was so blue and the shoreline was wide. Too bad the waves are quite strong this time of the year, maybe we should go back in the summer.

Okay, if you're done with Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts, then that means some scrappy time! I hope you get inspired with our challenge this week. Layouts for this theme are due on 20 December, at 12 midnight EST. Link up your layouts HERE!

Christmas is in the air!

Christmas is definitely just around the corner. I have started wrapping gifts but still have some shopping left to do. I feel the Christmas spirit and I'm inspired to create Christmas layouts too. Here's one of them. Photo was taken last year. This is also my layout for the Design Dollies sketch for the week.

I hope that inspite of the Christmas rush, you find time to create.  This is also something that I wish I can do.
Here's the sketch, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty! Link up your layouts HERE! Deadline is on 15 December at midnight EST.

Cherish

With my sister living abroad with her family, it is not often that we get to have our picture taken together. Can't they make air fare a little cheaper? LOL! Here's a layout using a photo of my mom, my sister and yours truly.

Ohhh, and here's another color combo that I worked with. It is based on Palette #31 over at The Color Room. Pink and Green is actually one of my faves!

Here's my layout...its about my daughter Ally at the age of 4. I included in the journaling her weight and height, her faves, and some of her idiosyncrasies too! I'm sure she'll enjoy reading it when she's older.

And here are some details:

Thanks for your time!!!!

Being Silly!

Are you up for a bit of silliness? That's the elements challenge for the Design Dollies this week. Oh, but there's a twist: you need to add some buttons. I'm sure you have a lot of silly pictures in your stash. I actually had quite a number of choices on what photos to scrap for this challenge but I decided to scrap a picture of Ally wearing her orange sunglasses....

I like how this layout turned out, it's one of those unplanned ones where I just cut and paste and added embellies here and there.

A couple of detail shots....

Its now your turn...show us some silliness! Layouts/Projects are due on Monday, 22 Nov, 12midnight, EST. Link up your projects HERE!

I'm a big fan of Prima ! Who can resist the flowers right?!? Naturally, I played along with the sketch for October Build-A-Page. I used a photo of my girls when they were flower girls at my brother in law's wedding last  June.

My layout didn't win but was one of the featured layouts! Yipee! This really made my day! You can take a look at the other layouts HERE and you'll be inspired for sure!

A Taste of Summer

With all the rain that we've been having the past few days, I was inspired to create a summery layout. Hehe! Based this on the October sketch at ScrapInspireCreate!

I've been hoarding my Webster's Pages Seaside Retreat pps for quite sometime now...its about time I use it!
Ohhh, and I created a flower by layering the small bits of paper that comes out of the Martha Stewart puncher thatI used on the left.

Here's a closer look:

Thanks for looking!

Wee Little Ones!

Wee Little Ones! This is what the Design Dollies' elements challenge is all about this week! This is open to your interpretation. This could mean little tiny people, very small embellies, something wee in your photos/images, mini ornaments or mini cards, or whatever. just stick to the theme and you'll be all set.

This is what I did...I scrapped a photo taken when Julia was just about a month old. Her hand sure looks small compared to ours.

I used the minimalist approach to this layout but I love the way it turned out. So happy I was able to use some of my rub-ons. I admit I don't get to use this type of embellishment often.

We want to see your take on the challenge...details HERE!

Great to be 8!

Yikes, its the last day of the month and before we go trick or treating this afternoon, I have for you our last sketch  for the month of October over at the doll house and I really like it!

Here's my layout!

My Julia is now 8 years old! I hope the pre-teen years will be easy : )
I hope this sketch inspires you! Do link up your layout here. Due date is on Wednesday, Nov 3, EST.

Working with Different Color Palettes...

I like working with the different color palettes at The Color Room. My comfort zone is shades of pink but working with the combos makes me think outside the box and I like it : ) Here are a couple I worked with:

Up to this age...they both still love riding the carousel. I used SEI papers that have been in my stash for quite some time now.

This is a recent photo of my girls...I love seeing them like this. Julia is really affectionate and likes hugging and kissing Ally but they do get on each other's nerves too.

I used bits and pieces of K & Co, Webster's, Basic Grey and Prima for this one. Here's a close-up of the flowers which I misted with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist for the added sparkle.

Thanks for looking! I'm finishing some more layouts....

Happy Birthday Pencil Lines!

I'm playing along with the birthday celebration at Pencil Lines. There are a lot of sketches to work with but too bad I found out about it just yesterday coz layouts are due today! Anyway, I was able to create one layout and based it on this sketch:

Here's my layout:

This was really a quick page for me. I finished it in about an hour. I'm still scrapping Julia's older photos. This was during her Christening. My wedding gown's veil was converted into her baptismal dress : )

Gotta go! My hands are itching to scrap!

Iris Uy was also very generous in giving away a Basic Grey (plus bonus Prima felt stems) RAK with papers from Pyrus and Marjolaine and I was so lucky my name was picked!
Here's what I got....

Last but certainly not the least, my prize for the September Challenge at Webster's Pages Inspire Me also arrived safely. Wonderfall looks really awesome!

Bliss

I'm so excited to be part of the reader's reveal for Creative Scrappers' 125th sketch! CS was my first DT stint so it will always be close to my heart.

Here's the sketch (which I flipped to the right)

 And here's my layout....

I used several lines from Webster's Pages and of course the bloomers! This layout is one of my favorites, maybe because I really love this photo (taken by DH) of Ally taken last Easter during our egg hunting activity.

There are a lot of prizes in store for this sketch so please do try it out. Layouts are due on 16 October at 11 pm.

Monday, October 11, 2010

Hello?

Here's a quick page I created over the weekend. I'm still scrapping older photos of Julia. She is just 1 1/2 years old in these pictures.

This is based on Sketch #84 at The Scrappiest...

A Brand New Combo

The Design Dollies have a brand new color combo for you to start off the week : Blue, Red, Brown and Ivory!

I'm still scrapping Julia's older photos and the combo worked well with her dress and little car.

Please do join us at the dollhouse! Layouts using the color combo are due on 10 October, midnight EST.

This week is quite busy...exams week for Julia; and Ally will be having a costume party at school at the end of the week before she goes on a month long semestral break. I hope I can manage to squeeze in some scrappy time.
