A Summer Layout

The weather has been so weird the past few days. Heavy rains and sunshine alternating have been driving me crazy. This is making me want to share a summer layout I did a few weeks ago. This is layout is based on a sketch from the May 2008 PageMaps. Picture was taken last March on our beach trip to Laiya, Batangas.

Journaling: One thing you love doing at the beach is picking seashells from the seashore. (March 2009, Acuatico Beach Resort, Laiya, Batangas)

Please also head over to the ScrapMuse blog to see some of the layouts the DT created with the June Garden Party Kit.

Some are old and some are new...

Here are a couple of layouts that I finished recently. I haven't been productive lately, I don't know why?

This is another layout for our Disney album. In the pic is my DD Julia with cousins Gabie and Mya.

This layout is my entry for last month's Kaya challenge. The requirements for the layout were: use a non-scrapping material for stamping and to use rubber/acrylic stamps on an embellishment. I used a placemat and black acrylic paint to create a background for my title. I also stamped on a button chipboard using one of my favorite stamps, the French Script stamp, and used it as an embellishment. Luckily, my layout was picked by random drawing, so I received a RAK from Bjay! This is actually the first time I won through random draw!

I got inspired by sketch #22 at Inspired Blueprints. I mixed a lot of brands for this layout, the base cardstock is Making Memories, the patterned paper is October Afternoon, the die cut is from Teresa Collins. I also used some Maya Road stamps.

I hope to scrap some more this weekend!

The Week That Was

We got back from our vacation last week but just when I thought we were going back to our daily routine, my girls Julia and Ally both got sick! I had to miss more days from the clinic to take care of them and I was also sick myself. They both had high grade fever with cough which kept me on my toes. Believe me, its easy for me to forget that I'm a doctor when my kids are the ones who are sick. I think it's the added pressure to make sure that they get well fast. LOL! When they were sick, I needed some scrap therapy to keep me sane. So when they were asleep and I get a couple of hours of free time, I sneaked in my scrap corner to work on some layouts.

Here are 2 layouts I finished for Scrappin Kids Challenges Fiesta:

For Cookie's Color Combo Challenge (blue, red, green, yellow, & kraft):

Title: Lean On Me
Journaling (from the song): when your'e not strong, and I'll be your friend. I'll help you carry on, for it won't be long, till I'm gonna need somebody to lean on. Used Creative Imaginations; Scenic Route Sonoma; Basic Grey Offbeat pps; Chatterbox chipboard sticker; AC thickers; Prima stamp.

For Issa's 5 scrapbooking brands challenge:

Title: First Love
Journaling: Daddy is a daughter's first love.
Used Making Memories, Fancy Pants, Jenni Bowlin, Creative Imaginations, Prima, 7Gypsies, and all about scrapbooking materials.

I'm also sharing some layouts I did which were intended for some challenges but I failed to upload it before the deadline...oh well!

For the April sketch challenge at Coordinates Collections.

Title: New Look
Journaling: You have super straight hair but after untying your braids, this is how you look.
Used BG Bittersweet pps for this one.

For the Creative Scrappers 3 picture challenge.

Title: Busy Lil Hands
Journaling: Kids are never more serious than when they are at play.
Used Pink Paislee and Sassafrass pps.

Thanks for looking!
