Fun with sketches & more

I'm having fun with sketches, using them actually saves a little bit more time. Here's the layout I made using joanne's sketch. My layout is quite simple, I only used a strip of patterned paper, plus a bit of stamping. I think it took me the longest to make the "sun" at the upper left corner. Hubby says he doesn't like the "sun" so much. Oh well?! I'm still happy with how the layout turned out, & I was able to scrap my backlog. These were taken 2 years ago, I was still pregnant with my 2nd child, & she's almost 2 already.
Here's the sketch:

And here's the layout:

Journaling reads: : Powdery white sand, clear blue waters, shopping, perfect sunsets, being together in paradise… we love everything about BORACAY! (Mar 2006)
Materials used: WRMK White out CS; BG Mellow (slack); DCWV CS; Inque Boutique stamp (punctuations); Daisy d’s buttons (tiny treasures); Fancy Pants lotsa letters chipboard alphas; Daisy d’s CS sticker (arrow); MM paint (espresso); Spare parts letter brads; Colorbox fluid chalk (chestnut roan); Versafine vintage sepia; Ranger Inkssentials glossy accents; American Crafts slick writers (black)

This is my entry to Scrappin kids march fave challenge. Its about scrapping your child's favorite. Ally loves piglet so much! She really adores her (or him? i'm not so sure LOL!)

Journaling: Piglet is very special to you. Even as you sleep, piglet has to be beside you. You even give him a good night kiss. When you wake up in the middle of the night, you always reach out for him then fall back asleep. This never fails, it happens every night!
Materials Used: Cardstock: DCWV & Bazzill; Patterned papers: Sandylion ribbon stripes & piglet phrase; Alphabet brads: Queen & Co.; Ribbon Labels: Making memories (childhood); journaling card: 7gypsies; Sizzix alphaclips; alphabet clear stamps: Queen & Co.; Buttons: autumn leaves (mod); others: ribbons & DMC thread

Here's another one of the layouts I finished recently, it's a monochromatic layout. I had so much fun doing this layout coz I get to use all the pink I want.

Journaling reads: The chubby cheeks, the big round eyes, the bangs cut straight across, the sweet smile... so very you! (Ally at 1 1/2 years old)
Materials used: Bazzill cardstock; Patterned papers: daisy d's lullaby (nursery pinstripe); Sandylion totally words; Fancy pants chipboard flourishes; MM paint (capri); Colorbox paint box (brights); Prima flowers; Corner adorner interlaced; Leeko glitter glue; American crafts slick writer; others: brads/blings/lace/buttons

I made this layout at the last EB, the challenge was to use 3 patterned papers from 3different manufacturers. I used Fancy pants botanicals as the base, added strips from Cosmo Cricket, & the strip at the bottom is from 7 gypsies. The title is from My Mind's Eye. I added Prima flowers & the butterfly stamp is from Autumn Leaves.
Journaling: continue & discover the world around you, dear Ally!

I also made a layout for the Scrapbytes "new beginnings" challenge. I guess this is how I look like 11 years ago, or should I say 20 pounds ago. LOL!

Journaling: My childhood dream of becoming a doctor became a reality when I graduated with a degree in doctor of medicine in 1997. Of course, I consider it as one of my biggest achievements but more importantly, I dedicate it to my parents. They instilled in me the value of education. To study hard to be able to reach one’s dreams. Sadly, my dad passed away 5 months before my graduation. He wasn’t there when I got my diploma but it was him who gave me the most important lessons in my life. These are the same lessons I will pass on to my children.
Materials used: Patterned papers: Fancy pants True (Natural) & Sassafrass Lass Royal Bliss; MM noteworthy journaling notebook; Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas (center of attention); Bazzill blossoms; Daisy d’s fabric flowers; Prima flowers; American Crafts thickers (smoothie); Joann’s scrap essentials alphabet brads; DCWV rub-on doodles; Stickles: stardust; American Crafts Slick writer; Others: lace, bling, metal embellies

This layout is based on a sketch contest over at A Peek Into Yesterday. The sketch is actually from Page Maps. I think I'm going to use sketches more often. Again, the pictures are from my backlog.
The sketch:

And the layout:

Journaling: Blowing bubbles seems like such a simple task but I love the way you showed determination. I hope that as you grow up, you will always have the same determination in all the things you do. (Julia at 3 y/o, Sept 2005)
Materials Used: DCWV Cardstock; Patterned papers: MM noteworthy, Junkitz fanciful (be you, flowerz, lattice); Junkitz fanciful additionz); American Crafts thickers (cream soda); Creative Imaginations scrapbook stickers; 3 bugs in a rug groovy die cut tags; Prima flowers; Making Memories brads; Autumn leaves buttons (mod); Corner Adorner (interlaced); American Crafts slick writer; Colorbox fluid chalk (chestnut roan); others: ribbon & lace

Thanks for looking everyone!

Fun at the EB

I attended the EB last March 15 (my first one actually) at Ms. Vivian's Lasting Impression with the rest of the scrapaholics from LB (or should I say shopaholics? LOL). Here are some pics with the girls:

I also joined the challenge for the day, which was to use 3 papers from 3 different manufacturers. I will add more embellishments to the layout, will post it as soon as I'm done.

And here are the stuff I got, can't wait to use them!

I'm looking forward to the next EB, & Scrapfest is just a few months away. Till then, let's all scrap to our heart's desire!

30 minute layout: moving up

Sometime in early february, Rita told me that it was my turn to make a 30 min layout for scrapbytes March issue, but I didn't know when the deadline was. Then around the last day of Feb, I received a message from Liezl telling me that the layout was due already. Taking advantage of the afternoon since my eldest daughter was in school & my youngest was taking a nap, this is what I came up with. It is very simple, & can be finished in 30 minutes or even less. I used a picture of Julia from her graduation from Nursery school. I used patterned papers from KI memories pop culture line.

Journaling: Today is graduation day from Nursery school... time to move up to the big school. You were named "MODEL STUDENT." Daddy & I were so proud. (Mar 2006)

Boy Wonder

This is my first boy page! Having 2 daughters, I'm used to making girly pages. Korey is my nephew (now 3 years old). My sister sent me this picture when I told her I was into scrapping. I used BG Mellow pps (super nice!) for this layout. Hope dear sister likes this.

altered CD

The LB Scrapaholics were invited by a school to lecture/demonstrate a particular project & the project was an altered CD wall decor. Since I haven't made one for myself, I did one right after I got home from the lecture!

Card for scrap for a cause

Here are the cards I made for scrap for a cause. I really enjoy making cards cause I get to use my scraps, & it can be finished fast.
