I won

"My Pride & Joy" layout won at Scrapmuse March Contest. Woohoo, this feels really good!

BTW, I told my little girl Julia that I won in a contest & she said "Hooray for mommy!" with her hands clapping up in the air. This made me feel even better.

My Scrappin' Corner

When I started scrapping in July of 2007, all I had was a tackle box which contained my tools (scissors, puncher, adhesives) & small embellishments; and a plastic box where I placed my stickers, rub-ons & bigger embellishments. My papers where in a 12x12 container which I got from Japan Home. I was also scrapping on our bedroom floor. This set-up gave me back pains & was very time-consuming because I had to put everything back into their proper places when I finish.

After the October scrapfest, I bought a small cabinet coz I couldn't fit my scrapstuff into my small boxes anymore. LOL! Here's the cabinet:

On the topmost shelf of the cabinet are my smaller embellishments. My stamps, chipboard, stickers, rub-ons are on the 2nd level & on the bottom shelf are my ribbons/lace & other supplies (spare glue & adhesives, etc). On top of the cabinet are my papers & cardstock. At this time, the cabinet was in our bedroom & I still scrapped on our bedroom floor.

January of this year, I decided to "renovate" a small corner of our house into my scrapping corner. This corner is just outside our bedroom & my kids' playroom. This is now the place where I scrap. The cabinet has now moved out of our bedroom & in to my scrap corner. My hubby also placed some shelves for me.

I now have my own scrapping corner! It's not a big space but it's a big improvement from my tackle box. I can also work & get creative any time of the day.

There's still a lot to be done, the walls are bare but this corner makes me happy.

thanks issa for this tag!

6th anniversary

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary this April, & I made this layout using our pre-nup pictures. We are both ???lbs heavier now. LOL! My hubby likes simple layouts with just a few embellishments so that's how I made this one. I used MME Signature Life as the base paper, & Making Memories Funky Vintage pp's.

Journaling: We are celebrating our 6th year of marriage, 6 years of love, companionship, & total bliss. I'm looking forward to more... (Picture taken April 2002, Journaling written April 2008).

Think pink!

No matter how hard I try, it's quite difficult for me to avoid pink. Simply because I like pink. LOL! I use pink combined with another color on most of my layouts, most especially when the subject are my 2 girls.

I made this layout for the ScrapMuse march contest using black & white & another color as accent. I used here KI memories pop culture pp's, prima flowers & MME journaling card.

journaling: my 2 girls...make me happy...make me smile...make me proud...you will always be my pride & joy.

When I started scrapping last year, my eldest daughter was almost 5 already. That's why I only have very few layouts of her when she was still an infant. She has so many baby pictures but these were taken before we had a digicam, so it's also hard to go thru the negatives. Might as well just use the ones printed out already. And, after just staring at my BG 2 scoops paper, I decided to use it. I also played around with lace & formed it into flowers.
Here's the layout:

Journaling: The day you were born will always be one of the happiest days of my life. I can still remember vividly how you looked the very first time I laid my eyes on you. Our lives have changed ever since your birth. You have brought so much joy into our lives & I want to thank you for letting me experience what it feels like to be a MOTHER. (Julia at 5 months)

Here's a closer look at the lace flowers:

Thanks for looking!

More new layouts!

I made this layout using Ytet's sketch over at her blog, but I rotated it 90 degrees counter clockwise to look like this:

Here's my layout using a picture of my girls taking a dip at an inflatable pool!
I used Rhona Farrar's line & used felt embellishments (Queen & Co and Fancy pants).

Journaling reads: School is over, the days are getting hotter, it's hard to resist a dip in the pool...Summer is here! (at our backyard, 15 Mar 2008)

I actually made this layout for dear hubby as a gift last Christmas, but wasn't able to take a good picture of it. I did this layout December 24 while he was cleaning the car. I finished it just in time for the opening of gifts! Love this pic of him.

Journaling reads: Though you might not know it, in more ways than one, you are our hero. We love you! from, chiqui, julia & ally

This layout was made for my nephew Korey. Isn't he adorable?
