Last week's layouts

Made this layout for the June Sketch contest at A Peek Into Yesterday.

I again used BG Sultry pp's
Here's the sketch by Ms. Becky Fleck:

I joined Scrappin Kids' online crop last Saturday & did this for the challenge. Requirements were: 2 different brands of patterned paper, 2 swirls, & 2 flowers.

Journaling: You are definitely a milk lover. In fact, you stopped drinking milk from the baby bottle when you were 4 1/2 years old! It is no surprise that one of your favorite drinks is a vanilla milkshake. (Julia at 5 1/2 years old, 4-14-08, Pancake House, Tagaytay)
Materials Used: DCWV cardstock; PP's: fancy pants celebrate & junkitz fanciful; Prima journaling pad; Fancy pants flourishes chipboard; Sizzix swirl die cut; Prima flowers; Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas; MM paint (capri); Fluid chalk chestnut roan; Reeve's glitter glue; Ranger glossy accents; MM brads

Made this layout for Busy Bee Scrapbooking's june sketch contest. I used Ally's baby picture for this one. I used Sassafrass (Life is Beuatiful) pp's & the tree is a chipboard by Buzz & Bloom. I also used my crackle paint on the trunk of the tree.

Journaling: Your sweet smile melts my heart! (Ally at 3 months, 10-18-2006)

Here's a closer look of the tree trunk painted with crackle paint:

These shoes & Kindergarten

Here are some layouts I finished recently but was not able to post here:

This is my 30 minute layout for the May-June issue of Scrapbytes. A simple layout that can be finished in 30 minutes or less. By the way, pictures c/o Issa!
Journaling: You have always enjoyed going to school and your love for learning is very obvious. I hope this continues until you reach college and even after. (Julia, Senior Casa)

Journaling: You are quite picky when it comes to clothes & shoes. It's hard to buy you shoes 'coz you always say "ayaw" but these shoes are different! When you saw it, you tried it on & wouldn't remove it. (Ally, 04-2008)
Materials used: Making Memories funky vintage pps & chipboard buttons, prima build a frame stamp, fontwerks journaling stamp, Making Memories Noterworthy Delaney metal signage, AC felt stickers, Creative Imaginations scrapbook letters
I did this layout during one of our mini EB's at my house one Saturday afternoon. Requirements for the the layout were as follows:
1) use plain cardstock as base
2)75% of the base paper exposed (this is quite a challenge for me, most of my layouts are "crowded")
3) use stamps
4) use at least 5 buttons
5) use metal embellishments
Thanks for looking!

My Firstborn

Made this layout for the Fancy Pants Challenge sponsored by Buzy Bee. Requirements for the challenge were: use materials from any of the following lines of Fancy Pants: Celebrate, Sweet Spring or About a Boy; & title should include the word "first." Here's my layout:

Journaling goes:
Dearest Julia,
Having you in my life will always be one of the greatest blessings in my life. We went through a lot when you were in my tummy. I had to go through surgery for an ovarian cyst when I was just 5 months pregnant with you. This caused me to undergo
a little bit of pre-term labor but you were a strong baby! I will never forget the sleepless nights when you were still small. Finding the right lullaby to put you to sleep was a challenge for me but it was well worth it. You are now almost 6 years
old & we have gone through a lot as a family. You now have a little sister to love, to care for, & to play with. I am not a perfect MOM, you are my firstborn child & I know I will make some mistakes. Yes, I sometimes lose my patience & I know I hurt your feelings too but I hope you understand that this doesn’t mean I love you any less. Each day we share together is a learning experience for the both of us. You continue to amaze me with your ways & I will always be thankful to the Lord for blessing me with a daughter like you. I hope that you grow up knowing & feeling that I love you infinitely!
Love,
Mommy

Materials used: PP: Fancy Pants Celebrate (play, make merry, confetti);Fancy Pants black frames transparency; Fancy Pants Glitter cuts (pink frame; Creative Imaginations Narratives; Prima flowers; Joann scrap essentials alphabet brads;
American Crafts Vinyl Thickers (poolside); Others: bling

Create My Keepsake Last Scrapper Standing Design Team Call

I signed up for the Design Team Call of Create My Keepsake. This is my first time to join a DT call & I decided to join for the fun & the experience. I know I didn't have the chance, with more than 80 scrappers signing up for just one spot! The current DT is also very, very talented! Anyway, here's my story.

First challenge was to scraplift any layout of any design team member. More than 80 layouts were uploaded for this challenge!!! I decided to lift Danielle Calhoun's Sweet Love layout:

Here's my take:

We all moved on to the next challenge which was to scrap about "your weakness." Sounds simple right? But I had a hard time deciding. Chocolates? Cakes & Pastries? Clothes? Shoes? Bags? Scrapstuff of course! I finally decided to scrap about my ultimate weakness... my other half! There were 70 entries for this challenge!!!

Hidden Journaling (tucked behind picture): You're not a celebrity, you are not famous either, but no one makes my heart skip a beat like you do... my one & only true love! (Materials used: cardstock; 7Gypsies pps; prima journaling pad; AC thickers; HS chipboard alphas; MM paint (red wagon); Ranger Glossy Accents)

The top 20 layouts will move on to challenge 2. I got eliminated together with around 50 others. LOL! I had fun joining this challenge. The gallery is so full of amazing layouts!
