More layouts for the week!

Here are some layouts I finished recently. Challenges and sketches really keep me inspired these days.

This layout is inspired by Scheme #12 over at Scrap Schemes.

Journaling: It's obvious from your headband and sandals...ORANGE is your favorite color. I'm just wondering if this will change as you grow older (Ally at 2, Oct 2008).
Used a mix of KI memories and American Crafts pps, with a bit of Hambly transparency, and the Damask is cut out from Teresa Collins pp.

This layout is based on Sketch #35 at Creative Scrappers.

Journaling: Your smile is one of life's greatest blessings (Ally at 2, Nov 2008)Used a mix of Prima and Autumn Leaves Heather Bailey pps. Journaling card is Creative Imaginations, and lace is from Timi.

This next one is a layout I did when the LB Scrapaholics got together for Rita's birthday party and crop last Saturday. A more detailed story on what happened that day, as well as the other scrapaholics' layouts can be seen here.

Journaling:
Requirements for today's celebration: 1)funky hats for Issa's birthday party; 2)Santa's hats for our Christmas party. It sure was a blast! (15 Dec 2008, Diamed office - turned party place).
Used BG Fruitcake pp's

The first month of the year is almost over. I was able to scrap 13 layouts, or roughly 3 layouts a week. Hmmm, not bad!

Blessings of 2008 and a Chick Biker

My scrapping slowed down a bit this week. I guess I've been sleeping more. LOL!
Anyway, here are the layouts I finished this past week. My co-DT Keely has a challenge over at her blog to scrap a "year in review" layout and I really liked the idea. Here's what I did:

Journaling (tucked under the pics with a clip): 2008 has been a very memorable year, definitely full of ups and downs. We started the year with Jimmy and Leah’s wedding in Cebu. It was Julia’s first chance to be a flower girl and she enjoyed wearing a gown and being made up like a princess.
A few days after we got home from our trip, we were so shocked when Ally had sudden seizures. It was something I didn’t expect since she was just playing when it happened. Ally had to be hospitalized for a couple of days and had to be maintained on anti-convulsants. Luckily, the seizures did not recur, and after a series of tests (2 EEG’s and a MRI) and visits to a neurologist, Ally was given a clean bill of health. The medication was stopped and we couldn’t be any happier. I believe this has brought our family even closer to one another. Ally is growing up well, and never fails to cheer us up everyday.
Julia continued with her ballet lessons and had her 2nd ballet recital. She also started Preparatory level in pre-school. One more year and she’s off to grade school. Her teacher always tells me that she is doing very well in school! She turned 6 this year and lost 2 baby teeth!
Of course, we visited a lot of places. Summer means going to the beach. We spent one night in Kabayan Resort, San Juan, Batangas in April and then headed off to Antulang Resort in Dumaguete City in May. Julia learned to snorkel and even tried it out in the open sea! She was a bit scared because the waves were quite strong but she did it! We also went home to Cebu in August and had another enjoying stay in Plantation Bay. This year, Daddy also visited Sydney, Australia and Hawaii. Before the year ended, we had a grand vacation in Baguio City!
Christmas was spent at home with some of our relatives joining us.
I am still addicted to Scrapbooking and I was able to make 98 layouts for the year, a bit short from my goal of 104.
There were trying times during the year, but what’s important is we were all together at these times God is good!

This next one I did for Scrappin Kids DT challenges last weekend. There were 5 challenges but I just finished one. The requirement was to use resident designers Cookie and Issa's fave embellishements which are chipboard and buttons, respectively.

Journaling: It's a different kind of bike, you tried it out, and you had lots of fun! (Nov 2008, Burnham Park, Baguio City).

Okay, that's it. I'm off to scrapping now...

Fast and Quick Layouts

I joined Coordinates Collections Winter Cyber Crop last weekend. There were 6 challenges posted but I only finished 3. I know I'm not a fast scrapper, and I only get to scrap when my kiddos are asleep so I'm happy with my output. A finished layout is a masterpiece in itself, right?!

Here are the ones I finished:

Challenge #1 - Is someone stealing my pens?
The requirement is to use something that is typically an "office" supply in your layout. I used lined paper and with a little help from my Stampin Up puncher, made the paper look like it was torn from a notebook. I also used some staples and a tab.
I again scrapped pics from our trip to Baguio last November. Love little Ally's expressions here while Julia is concentrating on posing for the camera.

Journaling: 2 girls posing for daddy to pass some time + mommy playing along = FUN

Challenge #3 - Alright, who left the copy machine jammed?
The only requirement was to use the same picture (or a VERY similar one) more than once in a layout. Here's Julia on top of a pretty horse.

Journaling: A pretty girl on a pretty horse! (Mines View Park, Baguio City, Nov 2008)

Challenge #6 - Is it Friday yet?
This challenge is to scrap weekend or vacation photos plus at least one button and some ribbon. Again, these are pics from our Baguio trip. I love the look of Kraft paper, I should use it more often.

Journaling: A bit of chilly air is enough to make this trip to Baguio memorable.

Christmas layouts

Just want to share with you my Christmas layouts.

This layout is my first as DT for Creative Scrappers. It is based on Sketch #34.

Journaling: The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other (Burton Hills)
Materials Used: Bo Bunny Believe pp; BG Fruitcake pps; Teresa Collins journaling card; Cosmo Cricket Be Good die cuts; 7Gypsies and Sandylion CS stickers, stickles, colorbox fluid chalk; assorted ribbon.

This next one is based on sketch #33 at Creative Scrappers.

Journaling: Christmas eve this year is very memorable because Kuya Pao and Niko are around to keep you company. You had the chance to play "boy games" and "Bomber" was your fave.
Materials Used: Teresa Collins Tis the Season pp & journaling card; BG Fruitcake pps & tag die cut; Making Memories glitter alphas; Others: ribbon & brad.

This third one, is also based on a sketch, but this time is from Scrappin Kids January challenge.

Journaling: Even as a little girl, Christmas is always a perfect time for us to take family pictures.
Materials Used: Patterned papers: Making Memories and Basic Grey; 7Gypsies CS sticker; Daisy D's rub-on.

Isn't it obvious that sketches give me the much needed jumpstart after the holidays?! Feel free to join the weekly sketch challenges at Creative Scrappers, you even get the chance to win some nice prizes at the end of the month.

Welcome 2009

Happy New Year to all and Welcome 2009!

The holiday season was really hectic but was a perfect chance to get together with friends and relatives. It wasn't a good time for scrapping since so many things need to be done but the pictures have been taken and just waiting to get scrapped (the sooner the better! LOL!)

I am finally able to scrap and would like to share with you my first layout for 2009!
Thanks to Sheree's 3x3 challenge at Creative Scrappers, I was finally able to scrap. The requirements for the challenge were: 3 patterned papers, 3 flowers, and at least 3 circles. Here's my take:

Journaling: You two are lucky to have 1 lolo and 2 lolas to spoil you on this Baguio trip (nov 2008)
Used Crate Paper Lemongrass pp's and glitter die cuts; SEI dill blossom pp; Prima flowers; Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas.

thanks for looking!
