On a roll...

Just sharing 2 new layouts I did after we got back from our trip.
This layout is for Rekindled Moments White Out Challenge:

Journaling: At first you were hesitant to get your feet wet but once you felt the gentle waves on your tiny feet, you knew it was going to be GREAT! (4-23-08; Laiya, San Juan, Batangas)

This one I finished last night:

Journaling: The beach is one of my favorite vacation destinations. I love the sound of the waves, the tranquility of the sea. Time seems to stop even just for a while. (Antulang Beach Resort, Dumaguete, Negros Oriental)
Materials used: Fancy pants Vintage Summer pps; Teresa Collings journal it tags; Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas; Hero Arts Old Writing Stamp; Bazzill & Prima flowers; Ranger Glossy Accents

Antulang Beach Resort (not such a fancy name!?)

Last weekend, we tagged along with hubby for an out of town meeting in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental. We stayed at Antulang Beach Resort. Well, what can I say about the place? First of all, we passed through some rough roads before we got to the place & it's quite far from the city proper (about an hour, more or less). The resort itself is clean & the gardens are well maintained. I think the best part of the place is the pool because it has a view of the ocean. The beach itself doesn't boast of a great shoreline. I think they take pride in good coral reefs, which is ideal for snorkeling & diving. Overall, we had fun, fun, & more fun! Here are some of our pics:

my first mini album

I just would like to share with everyone my first mini album. This has been 4 months in the making, haha! I started working on it in mid-January, finishing just 4 pages or so, and since there are a lot of pages, I got tired doing it so I put it aside. I pick it up every now & then & work on a page or two. I finally finished the last 2 pages last week! I hope my next mini album won't take this long to finish! Haha!

Scrapfest 5 & more

I attended Scrapfest 5 last Saturday! One of the events I look forward to since I started scrapping. This is my 2nd time to attend & I was really glad to see scrappin' friends I've met before & meet new ones too!

I joined the "do it your Selphy" challenge with the following requirements: use at least 1 Selphy-printed picture, use the all the papers in the kit, & use a corrugated board. I am not a fast scrapper so "on-the-spot" challenges are quite hard for me. This is my layout:

Journaling reads: It was a typical day, you were going around the house, & opening drawers, you got to the drawer where the camera was kept, got it & handed it over to daddy & said, "picture please!" These are the poses you made for daddy that day! (Ally at 1 yr & 10 mos)

These are the stuff I got from Scrapfest. Lots of papers: BG sultry; Kaisercraft; Fancy Pants About a Boy & Celebrate; Teresa Collins; Creative Imaginations Narratives; Heidi Swapp; & Prima Dude. I also got the Fancy Pants black frames transparency, & some glitter cuts. Can't wait to use them!

I also got a couple of thickers, an album, some stickers, blings, & the Prima build a frame stamp! The Prima Bitty Bag is a freebie for early registrants.

I can't wait to experiment with this one! Hope I can explore the potentials of this product!

I also made a layout for the Magnolia challenge. I used a picture of Julia eating ice cream by the beach. I had this pic printed out already so when I found out about the challenge, I scrapped it right away. I just placed a small logo of Magnolia at the bottom.
Journaling reads: Ice cream on the beach... nothing beats this treat on a hot summer day!!!

Thanks to Scrappin Moms' for organizing the event. Thanks for all the demos, will definetely use the stamping techniques I learned on my next layouts!

Lastly, this is the smile that my daughter Ally gave me when I focused the camera on her. She was watching me take pics of my layouts & wanted a picture too!
Have a nice day!

Lazy Scrapper

I did this card for my mom for mother's day, sorry for the bad picture, I hurriedly took the picture before giving it to her. Since yellow is her fave color, she liked the card instantly.

Since then, I have been unproductive, no new layouts to share. I think I need some scrapshopping to get me in the mood. Haha! Can't wait for scrapfest!

Oh yeah, my YUMMY layout (seen a few posts down) won at a sketch contest at A Peek into Yesterday!!! Woohoo!

Just Right

This is the layout I did for the NSD challenge over at Scrappin Moms Network. The challenge was to make a layout of what you love to scrap about, & use chipboard, fabric, & flowers. Of course I scrapped about my dear family.
Journaling reads: It is quite difficult to take a good family picture with 2 little girls, most of the time, the two of you are looking at different directions, BUT I think this picture is just right! (3.23.08 Easter Sunday)
Materials Used: BG lollipop shoppe; Tinkering Ink (Wild Woodland – for the birds); 7Gypsies (burnside); Prima journaling pad; Prima flowers; 7gypsies sticker (family); fancy pants lace (key lime pie); MM brads; Chipboard: heidi swapp (center of attention), painted with MM paint (kiwi); Ranger Glossy Accents; Image tree letter stamps; Inque boutique stamp (French quarter); American Crafts slick writer (blk); Versafine ink (vintage sepia); Others: twill (stamped with word “family”)

Scrappin Kids Ultimate Scrapper Drop Out

For National Scrapbooking Day, I joined Scrappin Kids' Ultimate Scrapper Challenge. It was a 3 day event which started on May 2. It was my first time to join an online crop & I was excited. I learned about the first challenge thru Liezl, which was to make a layout, with no photos, & just use words/adjectives to describe oneself.
This is my layout:

I used Urban Lily patterned paper as the base & a journaling pad from Prima.
I qualified for the next challenge which was due at 1 am that night. I actually started doing the layout but my younger daughter Ally wasn't feeling so well, so she wanted me by her side all time. Around 1 hr before the deadline, I dropped out. I continued to watch the challenge from the sidelines & just cheered on liezl, timi, & issa!

I also joined a Random Challenge by Wati, which was to post a picture showing what your kid/s are doing while mom is scrapping. This is the picture that I posted, & it won me a RAK from Wati.

Latest layouts

This is the sketch I used for my next layout. It's actually from Pagemaps and was used for the April Sketch Contest over at A Peek Into Yesterday.

Here's the layout of Ally enjoying her first taste of a strawberry lollipop. Hmmm, yummy! LOL! I again used BG 2 scoops & some felt embellishments, buttons, & lace.

Journaling: I couldn’t resist giving my little princess a YUMMY treat coz I’m sure she’ll love it.

I also joined Studio Azul's March Master Challenge. The challenge was to scraplift or use Ms. Iris Uy's layout as inspiration. Here's her layout:

And here's mine:

Title: Express Yourself
Journaling: At such as young age, you definitely know how to show displeasure by frowning & show happiness with a bright smile. You never fail to amaze me Ally! (Ally at 1 yr 7 8 mos, 3-15-08)
Mine's quite simple, just added the pictures at the bottom. My journaling was also directly handwritten on the paper. I just doodled a bit on the flowers on the left. The tinkering ink paper is so bright & beautiful, I couldn't dare cut it.

thanks for looking everyone!
